Using Bitcoin is hard.

• Bitcoin is digital, blockchain-based money. It's utility is the same as any other money:  Store of value (save/invest), means of exchange (pay/transact), and measure of value (cost/denomination).

• Bitcoin’s blockchain (the layer 1 or L1) makes it the most secure decentralized settlement layer for transactions because of it's Proof of Work consensus and high node count. But that makes it slow and expensive due to block validation times and gas fees to miners.

• Bitcoin's price appreciation and broad adoption are driving technical innovation on top of the existing blockchain to make it faster, cheaper, and smart contract compatible - these projects are called Layer 2 or L2 solutions.

• L2s enable faster and cheaper payments and peer to peer transactions, decentralized exchange, swaps to other crypto, Dapps, yield generation (DeFi), and even token and NFTs creation. But there are a lot of L2s and each one requires it's own integration and compatible wallet - this is known as the Bitcoin ecosystem's fragmentation problem.

• Only experienced users can juggle multiple platforms and/or wallets to access different L2s to unlock Bitcoin's full utility. Regular people just buy and hold, and never make the transition to native/decentralized functionality for even simple things like paying for everyday purchases.
